Who We Are

The Renatus Group (TRG) is a private real estate investment and development firm focused on value-add and opportunistic transactions across all sectors in the greater New York metro area.

Founded in 2008, Renatus has a proven track record of using local knowledge and broad operating expertise to generate attractive risk adjusted returns through the acquisition and redevelopment of undervalued and undermanaged assets.

Renatus has historically invested throughout the capital stack – including the acquisition of debt – while partnering with leading institutions and high net worth families.

The Principals of Renatus have transacted on over $2 billion of real estate acquisitions, dispositions and financings.

Meet The Team

KEVIN LEAHEY
Co-Founder & Principal

Mr. Leahey co-founded The Renatus Group in 2008. Prior to founding Renatus, Mr. Leahey was Vice President of Acquisitions and Asset Management for a New York-based joint venture partner of Kimco Realty Corporation (NYSE:KIM), a multi-billion dollar REIT. From 2002-2008 Mr. Leahey participated in the acquisition, management, and redevelopment of over a dozen properties comprising approximately $200 million in assets. Mr. Leahey graduated magna cum laude from SUNY Binghamton and holds a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Law.

STEPHEN MATRI, JR.
Co-Founder & Principal

Mr. Matri co-founded The Renatus Group in 2008. Prior to founding Renatus, Mr. Matri was a Senior Investment Sales
Associate at Marcus and Millichap where his primary focus was on commercial multi-family and retail assets. During his
time there he sold well in excess of $100 million worth of Manhattan real estate and was an integral part of expanding the
firm’s NYC presence. Mr. Matri holds a B.A. from the University of Arizona.

HERB EILBERG
Principal

Prior to joining The Renatus Group in 2022, Mr. Eilberg served as Chief Investment Officer of Urban Edge Properties (NYSE: UE), a $4 billion REIT with 17 million sf of retail, storage and industrial assets located primarily in the New York City MSA. During his time at UE, Mr. Eilberg was responsible for over $1 billion of acquisitions and dispositions. Prior to UE, Mr.
Eilberg served as SVP of Acquisitions for Acadia Realty Trust (NYSE: AKR). Prior to Acadia, Mr. Eilberg was part of the investment teams at The Milestone Group, Perry Capital and Soros Real Estate Partner during which time he invested in the multifamily, retail, storage and hospitality sectors and executed transactions throughout the capital stack. Mr. Eilberg graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a B.A. in Architectural Studies.

JOSEPH MEYER
Vice President, Asset Management

Prior to joining The Renatus Group in 2008, Mr. Meyer worked as a broker at Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services from 2006 to 2009. Mr. Meyer was responsible for underwriting, marketing, and negotiating contracts on behalf of commercial clients. He evaluated and appraised investment properties including mixed-use, multifamily, office and retail and listed and sold over $75 million real estate properties. Joseph Meyer graduated from the University of Delaware in 2002 with a B.A. in communications.

MICAH SALVESEN
Director, Property Management

Prior to joining Renatus in 2010, Mr. Salvesen was head property manager for a boutique real estate investment company located in Manhattan, NY. Mr. Salvesen brings approximately 18 years of experience in property management, tenant relations, and construction oversight.
